Social Welfare

The company organizes and runs various social welfare activities for local communities, which enables the partnership with communities to take root as a new corporate culture.

Seoul Baby’s Reception Home
Employees visit‘Seoul infant short-stay care center’every fourth Saturday of the month. Started in March 2008, this program is realizing the“sharing” spirit by a variety of volunteering works: feeding babies and changing their diapers. In September 2010, KRW 5 million worth of baby goods were donated.
One Heart volunteer group
Initiated in April, 2010, this volunteer group has been actively engaged in a variety of volunteering activities in collaboration with Korea Red Cross, Samsung center for hearing-impaired children, the Welfare Center for the aged, Beautiful Stores, and Ellim Infant center, to name a few.
Social welfare center Namsanwon
The female employee group“Hanuri”first started“love sharing”programs with Namsanwon, and the programs have evolved into the enterprise - wide level. Every month, events are organized for the social welfare center to share love with the needy. Notably, this program has motivated employee hobby clubs to participate in volunteering works, leading to leading to culture of volunteerism and improved quality of life among club members. A number of sports and cultural events were organized and sponsored which include friendship soccer game (Soccer club), bowling (Bowling club), Invitation festival to STX Resort and Christmas tree decoration. Moreover, the mutual solid network has been promoted through a charity bazaar and a spring community cleaning, and so on.
Volunteering for neighbors
STX Pan Ocean started a relationship with Seoul Jung-gu District Office and jointly made benevolent efforts to the aged living alone and less - privileged people. In December, the winter Kimchi making campaign was held and more than 1,000 heads of Kimchi cabbages were handed out to neighborhoods. In the STX Happy Volunteer Week campaign, love toward neighbors was exercised together with a number of social welfare promotion groups located in Jung-gu.

One Company-One Rural Village Relationship Campaign

As part of the efforts to support local residents, the company entered into a kin relationship with a fishing village in Doseong-ri, Seosan, Chungnam, in June 2006. Since then, the relationship has been deepened through constant gatherings and activities such as purchasing newly harvested rice from Doseong-ri, holding marine wetland experience events, supporting the building of monument, and so on.

Culture Art-related Volunteering

STX Pan Ocean supports cultural and art events as well. In 2010, for three years in a row, ‘Love Violin for the Youth’ was supported offering free violin lessons to local and foreign  children. On top of this, various CSR activities were conducted including volunteering for the Seoul National Cemetery, and supporting 2022 World Cup Bid Committee and the Ramsar Environmental Foundation.
