Based on more than 50 years of experience in the bulk cargo transportation business, Pan Ocean has built trust with major shippers around the world. By capitalizing on this competency, we are focusing on securing more CVC (Consecutive Voyage Charter) contracts with POSCO, HYUNDAI STEEL, domestic power generation companies, major overseas steelworks, and resource developers, while also expanding short-term SPOT cargo transport contracts that are impervious to market fluctuation.
Moreover, we are committed to reinforcing local customer-centered marketing activities and ensuring differentiated bulker services to develop new customers. Meanwhile, the strategic portfolio between short- and long-term transportation contracts is promoted to ensure stable growth foundation.
In particular, we are strengthening our growth potential and profitability by focusing on long-term contracts with large shippers at home and abroad, such as POSCO, HYUNDAI STEEL, KEPCO, SUZANO and VALE.
We will continue to expand and diversify the fleet to provide customers with safe and differentiated bulker services.
Pan Ocean provides world’s top-class breakbulk liner service for steel, coal, wood, equipment, and machinery cargoes throughout all major routes covering Far East Asia, Southeast Asia, India, North America, the Middle East, and Europe by operating its competitive fleet. Steel cargo accounts for the largest share of the breakbulk liner service and key customers include major global steel makers and traders such as POSCO, HYUNDAI STEEL, SEAH STEEL, DONGKUK STEEL, DONGBU STEEL, POSCO INTERNATIONAL, BAO STEEL, NSSMC, JFE, STEMCOR, and DUFERCO. We are operating organizations by each route for more specialized shipping services of steel cargo. In particular, we operate a specialized SUPER CARGO TEAM in addition to MARKETING TEAM and OPERATIONS TEAM to ensure stable cargo stowage. Cargo supervisors with expertise and rich experience visit any place of cargo shipment in the world to dedicate to safe shipping services.
Our tramper service is offered for a wide range of bulk cargoes in the worldwide routes in accordance with customers’ requested routes and itineraries. Especially in the transportation of grain, we demonstrate our status as a major player in the Northern Pacific area and Oceania routes. We are also recognized as a leading player boasting world-class ocean routing services in the shipment of coal, sugar, fertilizers, logs, and alumina which bridges the Pacific-Oceania (Australia/New Zealand) region. Even in the Atlantic Ocean, Pan Ocean is keeping abreast of European shipping companies based on high-quality shipping services in transporting grain, raw sugar, steel, fertilizer, scrap metal, and wood pulp. We will continue not only to secure competitive fleet and long-term contracts but also to develop new growth engines such as mineral market of Australia and Southeast Asia and grain market of Central America to achieve qualitative and quantitative growth.
The large bulker service is Pan Ocean’s core business that transports dry bulk cargoes including coal and iron ore from major producers to consumers throughout the world by using large bulk carriers with over 150,000 DWT such as Capesize vessels and VLOCs. This service is mainly engaged in transporting coal from Australia, Indonesia, South Africa, and Colombia and iron ore from Brazil and Australia to Asia and Europe. We contribute to the growth of global economy by stably supplying raw materials based on long-term carriage contracts with renowned steel makers, power generation companies, and mining companies such as POSCO, HYUNDAI STEEL, KEPCO, HYUNDAI STEEL, VALE, BAOSTEEL, HEBEI and SHAGANG. To further strengthen our competitiveness, we are striving to expand the service coverage around the world and securing an efficient fleet.
